| Paul Webb (Lead Vocals) is a sought after session singer and has
recently recorded two tracks with Chris for the Uriah Heep tribute album
"Heepstyria" (Bronz were signed to the same label as Heep) |
Chris Goulstone (Guitar & Keyboards) www.chrisgoulstone.co.uk
writes music for Film and TV. After Bronz, Chris played on many albums as a session
player also playing guitar for ex-Strangler, Hugh Cornwell 1990-95. Simon Thomas. (Bass Guitar). Simon in fact was the original bassist in the band and has now rejoined Bronz! A true artist of the bass guitar with an un-worldly knowledge of the instrument, Simon will be a great acquisition (Chris and Simon continued to work together on other projects and record releases during the history of Bronz). Simon will be a major player / contributor to the future. Welcome back Simon!! |

| BRONZ, was originally formed in the 80's by
Chris Goulstone and Paul Webb. Many line-ups came and went, with all the ups and downs normally associated with young up and coming rock bands. Soon the band were augmented by Shaun Kirkpatrick (Guitar) and Carl Matthews (Drums). It was the time of New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, (as the British press called it) After appearances at the London Marquee club, the Music Machine and the like, the band retreated to their spiritual base- the West Country! To re-group and set about crafting a new sound - something honest and from the heart, something that would have lasting appeal. The band had set their sights on America and the world rock market. Soon after signing their record deal with Bronze Records (no-relation!) they enlisted the sevices of frontman Max Bacon. With band line-up set and their debut album "Taken by Storm" in the racks - the band set off for the States. Recordings from that time feature on the band's new release 'Bronz Live Getting Higher' on Sanctuary Records. Inevitably the rot set in, external pressures broke the band, but not before selling over 200,000 albums world wide, being one of the first MTV darlings and playing to 30,000 seat arenas throughout America…not that bad, and a great experience! (Interestingly the video for the bands single Send Down an Angel featured a then unknown actress Emma Thomson as the obligatory dolly bird!) I think it was also record of the week on Simon Bates Radio 1 Show. |
